Trinidad North

Trinidad North Steel Drum Band is the perfect musical act to make your event fun and festive! Caribbean music is sure to put your guests in a great mood every time.

Trinidad North typically performs as a duo. David Gettes, renowned steel drum maker, tuner, and player, founded the band in 1985. He is joined by various drummers, and can also provide a trio version of the band with bass players.  Trinidad North offers a high energy performance that is very lively without being loud and overpowering. For larger events, Trinidad North can add bass guitar, keyboards, horns, and dancers in beautiful Caribbean attire. 

 

The band’s repertoire includes an amazing variety of songs spanning the genres of soca, calypso, reggae, rock, pop, and jazz . They have played thousands of events including trade shows, corporate events, birthdays, bar/bat mitzvahs, backyard island-themed parties and many, many weddings. At weddings they typically provide entertainment for cocktail hour, but are also experienced at performing during the ceremony and providing background dinner music. And if your party calls for it, they will be eager to get out the bamboo stick and lead your guests in a limbo dance.
